Movie Review - Harry Potter 7.2

On the weekend the kidlet and I went to see Harry Potter 7.2. We have read all of the books (I read books 1-6 aloud) and of course seen all the movies. Own most of them. So how was it? Great. :-)

It follows most of the story pretty closely (that I remember), lots of fight scenes and explosions and, oh my, little Neville Longbottom has grown up.

A little cosmetic dentistry and I think I'm in lust.
It was great to see most of the professors again, they were all there for the big battle, and Professor McGonigal got some good lines. Hermione and Ron were a cute couple and there were people who died which is always sad. However it was a fun entertaining movie and a great end to the series.

My only thought was, if you were magic, why would you need to clean up the castle with a broom? Couldn't professor McGonigal just wave her wand and have all the repairs done lickity-split? What's the point of being magic if you can't clean without work? LOL

Also on the way out of the theatre I heard this young man telling his date that the whole thing with the special elder wand and who it would obey was kind of lame and they shouldn't have written it that way. Umm, honey, it was in the book that way. They couldn't just CHANGE it. Sheesh. He'd obviously not read them.

Also at the end which was supposed to be about 19 years later, only Harry and Ron somewhat looked older. Ginny looked like a 16 year old with 40 year old woman hair. I thought they could have used some special effects or make-up to make them look like they could have 12 year old children. But minor detail.

So for Harry Potter fans a definite must see.

I'm sure it must be a bit weird for them to finish. Although as Daniel Radcliffe said last night, it's been a year since they finished shooting so they've all sort of gotten on with their lives. However I came across this little gem on Tumblr (no, not everything is nekkid boys there LOL) and it was very touching with sweet music and to see the bittersweet end for the actors.

All grown up.

We still haven't seen it, but of course I know what happens since I've read the books. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed it!

Not many spoilers left for most folk at this point Val. LOL It was a fun movie though and definitely of a similar quality to those that preceded it.

I so want to see this. I think I may have to sneak away this weekend.

Definitely worth a sneak Stephani. We saw it in 3-D, however if I was given the choice, I wouldn't pay extra for that.

Whoa! I guess I haven't been by in a while! Nice remodeling, Tam!

Anywho...husb and I went to see 7.2 on Saturday, after having watched 7.1 on pay tv the night before - I'd put off seeing it until the last one was out. Both were very good, and it's a bittersweet thing to get to the end. I may have to go re-read the books now!

We didn't choose the 3D, and I was perfectly satisfied without it :)

It's only been a week or two Wren. :-) I probably should have watched part 1 before we went because it took me a while to get back into it, but it was fun and hard to believe it's been so long and no more. But at least it didn't suffer from so many sequels and turn into suckage.

I find most of the time 3-D just seems to be a money suck and really doesn't make any difference to the experience.

At some point I need to catch up! I am 3? 4? movies behind... Glad you enjoyed it. :)

Oh goodness, you are falling behind Chris. :-)

What???? NOOOOO! Not everything on TUMBLR is half-nekkid guys???? WHA????? :)

The movie was okay for me. But I'm just now reading the books, so maybe I'llbe able to appreciate it more once I read more of them. And I LOVE anything Maggie Smith is in. She's awesome. Love it when an old lady kicks butt, ya know?

And you're daily eye candy...I feel certain I've seen him somewhere before...porno maybe?

HUGS...

Okay, Tumblr is 98% nekkid boys, 1% cute furry animals and 1% other random stuff. :-)

I think fans of the books are the real target audience, it pulls it all together. Still an entertaining watch even if you're not a die-hard fan.

Now I believe you told me once you'd never seen a movie with him in it Polt. Perhaps you've seen changed your ways and seen the lovely Brent in action? I confess, I have a soft spot for the cutie.

Can't comment on the HP movie, since I never got around to reading/seeing any installments but the first, but...isn't that your Hottie on the cover of Jeff Erno's upcoming release from Dreamspinner? (Just take a gander at their Coming Soon page. I could be wrong, but there's definitely a similarity.)

*gasp* Someone who hasn't been following the HP hype? You exist? In real life? LOL

My hottie is Brent Corrigan and he does kind of look like Jeff's cover, but I don't think he'd okay his image for that, he's a bit older, although he doesn't look it. :-) Marie Sexton claims his younger brother works as a grocery bagger at a store near her. She's trying to find a subtle way to get a picture for me without coming across as creepy older woman stalker. LOL

OhmyOGD, that's Brent Corrigon??? How could I not know that? No, still never seen one of his pornos, but I HAVE seen many MANY photos of him, in many MANY stages of undress. :)

I took Alex to see HP Friday and we both loved it.

It is kind of sad though knowing there won't be any more books in the future.

OMG, I can't believe I'm more familiar with a porn star's oeuvre than you are Polt. LOL You should check it out. He's good at his job. LOL Now he's going all mainstream of course. Follow him on Twitter.

It is sad Lily, but it's better they end when still good. We all know series that should have stopped well before they did.

I've seen Corrigan in 'regluar' films: Another Gay Movie, etc. And I saw him in one humorous promo with a bug burly guy in a coach/player lockerroom fantasy type of thing, that was not X but dealt with safe sex. Pretty funny that.

Yeah, i should search the porn sites for clips from some of his movies.

HUGS...

Tam said...

Yes, research is good. :-) He's got a couple of new ones out on the gay film festival circuit, I Was a Teenage Were-Bear (I think it's called) and Judas Kiss. Don't know much about them but I know he's been promoting them lately.

OMG has the actor who played Neville Longbottom grown up fine. I can't believe I just said that! *blushes* I meant that in a completely abstract way :)

BTW, Emma Watson looks gorgeous! I love her short hair!

Need to watch the sixth movie - I'm behind :(

Tam said...

Mmhmmm. Suuuuuuure. ;-) She does look great in the short hair. She's tiny enough that it suits her well. You'll have to have a HP marathon.
