I'm Melting, I'm melting .....

Yeah, yeah, whine whine whine. I know for people who live in Alabama or Perth or other places that could be confused with Hell in the summer 44C (or 111F) with the humidity is just another day in paradise. For us up here? Ack!!!! Our buildings and system are not set up to cope. My office faces the sun in the morning and it gets so hot the air conditioning just can't keep up. Even my window air conditioner at home can hardly make a dent in the heat in my bedroom. I'm really surprised there haven't been more power outages as we all struggle to get ourselves cooled down. We're supposed to get a break tomorrow, down to 90 instead of 110. Oh joy.

So as a result I haven't done hardly any reading because when I'm hot I just can't focus. I don't think I've finished one new book this week. I've flipped (electronically) through some older books and done some rereads but it's just a big fat blah. I've cooked nothing in an attempt not to turn on the stove. Last night I stopped at the store to get a precooked chicken and some buns. Tonight might be frozen dinners. I have an internet friend (and his friend) coming to stay with us this weekend so I've been trying to get my house cleaned up a bit, but it's tough to get motivated with the heat and I hope it cools down a bit before they get here so they can actually sleep and not wake up in a puddle of sweat.

So there's that. Nothing exciting, just trying to stay cool, (metaphotically at work as well as it was pretty close yesterday - it's going to be a rough year I think). Here are some hot cookies to keep you amused until I get my act together.

Here's hoping the heat breaks more significantly soon! And I'm not going to tell you what the temp is here right now.

I don't want to know. I'm going to pretend it's 120 so that I can believe others are suffering my pain. LOL

Friday night it's finally going to drop at night so we can open some windows and get it cooled down.

Mind you, if I was at the beach (under my umbrella) checking out that last honey I'd be good with this. :-D

Hope it cools down soon! I'm used to high temps but here pretty much anywhere you go has central air. I don't like to imagine being in that heat with no a/c. :(

Thanks for the cookies. nom nom nom

Oh those ARE hot cookies. Good luck with your brain freeze!

And yeah, that last cookie needs to arch his had back a little more and drop that left knee. Perfect. Now rub oil all over your stomach. Wonderful!

Wait, I think I just made it HOTTER in here. uggg.

One of my coworkers has no a/c and she didn't even own a fan Lily. THAT is insane. I'm sure every store in town is sold out of both at this point. LOL

ROFL Miranda. You'd make a great director.

Great photos, Tam! And you totally have my sympathy about the heat. It must be just awful with the humidity.

The ultimate in heat awfulness though is probably Phoenix, Arizona which has got more and more humid over the years as people move there from the midwest and put in lawns.

If it makes you feel any better, the coolest temp in Phoenix in the summertime (right before dawn) is often 90F (32.2C). You get into your swimming pool for relief, and it feels like swimming in a cup of coffee, ha, ha!

But at least you are wet in the pool Val. Yeah, Arizona is not for me in the summer. In winter definitely. :-)

It's amazing how humans can really affect the climate that way. Silly beings.

Ohmy, that's even hotter than it is here! Good luck with keeping your head cool, Tam. And thanks for the hot cookies. Some things can never be hot enough ;)

So true Janna, so true.

Sending cooling winds from the UK.

It's actually quite nice here at the moment with the temp hovering around 20-21C, just right for me. I hate it when it gets up to 25C, so I've no idea how you cope with temps in the 40s!

I don't mind 25. We were bitching last week because it was 18 and we were freezing to death. LOL No making us happy. :-)

*ahem* I seem to recall somebody saying that it never got suffocatingly hot and humid in a certain part of Canada.

I believe that is called jinxing oneself. ;-)

(Those cookies most certainly did NOT cool me off.)

Wuss. :P

I fully admit it. :-)

It doesn't get hot and humid in Manitoba as a rule KZ, but I don't live there. Waaaah. Well, not really, I have no desire to live in Manitoba again, just would rather have their weather.

Those cookies do make you feel a tad warm don't they?

The heat wave finally broke here and I could not be happier. I really, really, really like that second picture, by they way. Yum!

They are pretty aren't they Stephani. It's broken here too today although still humid but we've had some rain. It's only 32C with the humidity instead of 44C which feels downright chilly. LOL

We have been eating crap. Whatever didn't require cooking. Mojo that you get some of this cooler air that's coming to EH.

Pretty, pretty pictures!

It's too darn hot here in NC, so I feel your pain. I'd rather be cold. You can always put on more layers to get warm, but there's only so much you can take off to get cool. ;) It finally rained today, and that did help a bit.

It's been weirdly hot in so many places. It's been raining here on and off today. The temp has dropped but it's still humid.
