Wear Purple Day - October 20

October 20 has been declared the day to wear purple in honour of those young people who've taken their own lives due to bullying over their sexuality or perceived sexuality. Unfortunately I don't own anything that is suitable for the workplace in purple, however I will be sure to wear it when I get home. So the best I can do today is provide you with some other official supporters of the cause along with some dancing Asian boys in a song called Purple Line by DBSK.

Purple has never looked lovelier!

Quite bizarre mix of English and Japanese lyrics in that song. Still they were nice to look at, and that blond one could have stepped straight out the pages of a Yaoi book - uke, anyone?

I'm wearing purple today, but then again no-one cares what I wear to the office since it's just me in there.

Purple is lovely Eyre.

You have no idea how hard it was to find a song with "purple" in it Jen that wasn't some hard rock or rap. LOL

I did find another purple t-shirt I forgot I had so I'm wearing it under a white blouse. At least it doesn't have writing all over the front of it like my other.

Purple is one of my favorite colors but it really doesn't look all that great on me. I'll dig something up and wear it proudly. Thanks for the heads up...and the beautiful men. :)

Yummy purples, Tam! Thanks.

I'm working at home today... Um, I'm wearing a lavender bathrobe. Does that count?

Tam said...

You're welcome Tracy. I look fine in purple and I even like it, no clue why I don't own more. LOL

Definitely counts Chris. If you manage to go downstairs to get mail or newspaper in it, you get double points. :-)

I might change to my purple sweatpants and a purple t-shirt for that. :)

Veri word: inetrump - Internet rump?

Internet rump

I've seen a few of those in my day. ;-)

I am SO totally stealing some of these for my purple blog!!!!! DIdn't watch the video yet, I think I'll wait till I get home to do that. :)

HUGS....

Polt said...

Oh, and you couldn't think of any purple songs??? "Purple Haze" by Jimi Hendirx? "Purple Rain" by Prince? "One Eyed, One Eard, Flying Purple People Eater" by whoever the hell did it?

HUGS....

Tam said...

Steal away Polt. Oh, there are copious Asians ith hair things, I think you'll enjoy it. ;-)

Tam said...

Purple Haze - so not my style
Purple Rain - Prince's record company has removed ALL copies of his music from You Tube
Purple People Eater - seemed too ... odd? LOL

Purple Line - sexy Asians. No contest really.

"Start Wearing Purple" by Gogol Bordello! Or "Purple Kind of Day" by Laura Brino!

"Start Wearing Purple" by Gogol Bordello

I listened to that and went .... uhhh, Asian-pop please. LOL To be honest the one I posted is more "me". I have the musical tastes of a 13 year old girl. :-)

Didn't Find the second one but I had a huge list and most were a bit to not to my taste. Sigh.

Not a fan of gypsy punk?! :)

Purple's always been my favorite color and I'm proudly wearing it today.

Loved the pics and the video. Thanks!! :)

**sorry, didn't let me subscribe before**

gypsy punk

Was that the genre Chris? LOL I believe Kristen's response was "What the hell are you listening to?" Me: "Umm, nothing."

Tam said...

You and Polt would get along great with your mutual love of all things purple Lily. :-) Have a great purply day.

Tam, once again you prove you are queen of cookies! Not only is your hottie of the day amazing, but the purple boys... Outstanding, I say!

Purple is my favorite color, and I look okay in it, but oddly don't have many clothes in that color, but I only need one shirt to make it count, right?

Chris: lavender bathrobe, purple sweats, t-shirt... you're awesome!

Tam said...

Tumblr is a wonderful place Wren. :-D It only takes one shirt to count for sure. I wonder why so many of us don't have much purple? I must rainbow-ify my wardrobe. Except yellow, I look like I have jaundice when I wear yellow.

Chris said...

Purple's my favorite color after black. :)

Tam said...

Oh so goth. ;-)

Chris said...

Um, not so much. ;) It's SIMPLE. It's flattering to my coloring. And it hides the hair of black kitties. Or did I get black kitties because their hair wouldn't show? :D

Tam said...

I regret that I didn't get tan cats when we got ours. Black cats + tan carpet = constant state of cat hair mess. Luckily no one ever comes to visit so I just ignore it.

Chris said...

Fascinating thing about the cream-colored (with brown flecks) berber in my condo - it doesn't really show cat hair. It slowly turns grey and it's not until I vacuum that I realize how much cat hair there was on the floor! O.o

Val said...

Great photos, Tam. I'm wearing a purple t-shirt right now!

Tam said...

Thanks Val. Purple t-shirts seem to be popular. :-)

Chris said...

Well, since it's unlikely that I'll even see another human today, I guess I'll just have to wear my purple t-shirt tomorrow. :)

I've got on my purple sweatshirt.

As soon as I saw your purple guys I thought of Polt - but I see he's already been here : ).

That first picture (and the seventh) - hubba hubba!

Tam said...

Yay for purple Michelle. I am starting to see the appeal for men of wet t-shirt contests if #1 is any indication of how it works. ;-)

Stephani Hecht said...

I wore purple, although I'm so fat I probably looked like the blow-up Violet from Willy Wonka.

Tam said...

Let's not discuss how large we all are Stephani. LOL It's the thought that counts. :-)

My daughter said quite a few kids wore purple at school and one boy didn't have purple clothes so they drew on him with purple markers. Ummm. Okay, again, the thought that counts right? LOL
