My Musical Find for a Wednesday

While searching for Stephen Torrence videos (the ASL music guy) on YouTube I found him doing this song. It really caught my attention. Then of course I had to check out his other stuff. Some quite jazzy, some poppy. Alexander Rybak is a Norwegian violinist and composer.

Fairytale won the 2009 Eurovision Song contest. Is he not just cute as a button? The video is no hell though and I kind of like Stephen's version better.

And since I started looking for Stephen, here is a bit of a dance mix. Black Eyed Peas "I Got a Feeling". Kind of an overdone song, but they look like they are having such a good time.

I really enjoy seeing his videos.

I like the Black Eyed Peas song. It's catchy! Although the video doesn't appear on your post.

Argh. I see no videos. It must be a sign. Or a portent.

Argghh. I can't see them either. WTH? Let me fix that. Sigh.

Ah, Hopefully that works. Not sure what happened. Weird.

Okay, I could see all three now.

Thanks!

Love the videos! I had to teach Signed English one year. It would have been nice if I'd actually known it.

That's crazy Eyre. LOL I'm assuming you had some kind of translator or did you just wave your arms around? :-)

Thanks EH. I liked it because it kind of had a jazz feel to it.

Tam, I had to teach hearing kids to sign. It was an elective class. I had some books and some videos. Signed English is like ASL, except it doesn't use the French grammar that ASL uses.

I can now sign "This Little Piggy" and "Baa Baa Black Sheep" quite fluently.

I'm sure that's a useful skill when picking up hot studs at the local watering hole Eyre. LOL Kind of a cool class though.

Stephen makes me laugh every time I see him! He needs a camera that can keep up with his violin playing.

He is an entertainer John. Air violin, the newest thing with the kids.

Tam, LOL! The studs at our local watering hole are all duds. The best thing about that class is that I learned most of the "bad" words. Every now and then, I get a student in English who doesn't know that I know them and who teaches the others so they can be "funny." They always turn pale when I start signing back to them.

I LOVE the Black Eyed Peas song. It's my happy song and that clip is friggin' awesome.

Thanks for sharing it, Tam!

You just can't help but want to bop along with it Kris. Glad you enjoyed it.

I LOVED this song when it won the Eurovision song contest! I even didn't mind that Britain came a very sad last cos I liked this song so much :). He's just sooooo cute that I wanted to take him home and keep him.

Hub might not have liked that though :).

Oh, last? Ouch. LOL He is adorable, keep him like a pet, chained in the basement, naked. Umm, did I say that? :-)

I'd never heard the song before as we don't get much coverage of the Eurovision beyond the odd blurb, usually about the really crazy wacky songs.

The Eurovision Song Contest is an institution. We all watch it, even though we haven't done that well since the Iraqi war because all the other European counties hated us for throwing our lot in with George Bush and refused to vote for us. Yes, it is that politicised :).

Tam said...

Wow, a musical grudge. :-) Hopefully they'll get over it soon. It should be about the music, but then it's usually a popularity contest like most entertainment voting things.

Wow! That first one is amazing. Love the violin! Now to check out other two.
