So I'm kind of stalled out reading-wise. Nothing seems to be catching my attention. I have a bunch of books in my TBR file and I should read at least one before I go shopping. So I thought I'd let you guys choose. These are six of the books that have been hanging around the longest or near the longest. Which do you think I should read?
I've put a link with the blurb of each one in case you aren't sure what the book is. Whatever you choose, by noon Friday I will read. I might start something else in the meantime, but we'll see how motivated I am tonight. Possibly not very.
Dark Heart by Thom Lane
Geography of Murder by PA Brown
Slave Boy by Evangeline Anderson
Windows in Time by M. Jules Aedin
Warriors Cross by Madeleine Urban and Abigail Roux
Pure Sex by DJ Manly

What an interesting way to decide on your next read!
I've read them all except for PA and DJ's and my favorite was Windows in Time. Loved that book. The others were good also.
For some reason, I kept putting off Windows in Time, then couldn't imagine why after I'd read it!
I have no idea why I put off some of these, although if I look at the themes, a couple of fantasy, a quasi-historical, BDSM. Probably makes sense.
Hi Tam :)
I say Windows in Time, because I liked it very much.
Mmh.. maybe by Friday I should read Geography of Murder, because it's languishing in my TBR pile since, it seems, forever!
I've had that one since last July Sarah. I think I must buy books because someone says "Oh it's really good" and then I realize that it's not really a theme I would have bought totally blind or who the hell knows what I'm thinking. LOL
Tam: I do that, too... but I discovered, thanks to Kris' challenge, that getting outside of what I think I'll like can be a good thing. So... I'm trying more... But there are definitely things sitting on my reader that I'm not ready to read just yet.
Now, if I could just get over the urge to read all the shorts I buy nearly as soon as I buy them...
"Now, if I could just get over the urge to read all the shorts I buy nearly as soon as I buy them..."
EXACTLY!!!! I think it is because they are short. You're not making a big commitment, so if it's crappy it's only 40 min. of your life.
I've heard very good things about Windows in Time (which I just voted for) and I liked Warrior's Cross. The others I haven't read either, but I've liked other things by TL and PAB. Wasn't too impressed with the one thing I read by DJM. Haven't yet read anything by EA, but her ideas sound good.
Very creative way to decide your next read!
Thanks Val. You've never read anything by Evangeline Anderson? Huh. I loved Str8te Boys but am not a big fan of The Assignment which many adore. But those are all contemporary unlike the one here.
I think I was whining on Good Reads about losing my reading mojo one day and someone suggested asking others to pick for you so I thought I'd give it a whirl. We'll see if it works out. :-)
I loved Dark Heart, but couldn't remember how you felt about BDSM content (along with historical/fantasy setting).
I liked Warriors Cross, but I think generally speaking people are divided over it.
Slave Boy I read a long time ago, and tho' I usually like Evangeline I remember rolling my eyes a lot at this one.
Windows in Time was amazing, I thought. Two time periods, cross dressing, quick love...heartbreaking and funny. Read it.
Or else get to work on that Cirque be so Gay story.
I'm ashamed to say that I've only read one of the books in the list so I voted for that one :).
People keep recommending Slave Boy to me, so I must get that.
Well Wren unless one of the authors finds out about this and sends their minions to vote, looks like Windows in Time will be my next read.
I think most readers of a Cirque du Gay story would be saying "A body can't do that." but having been to several Cirque shows, trust me, they can. LOL Research, much research.
I think that's why I bought Slave Boy Jen, lots of people saying how great it is but then it just never grabbed me.
I voted for Slave Boy...just cuase it sounded the most like something I'd want to read.
Or experience. :)
HUGS...
It takes place on another planet Polt so you might enjoy it. The cover is rather yummy which may also be partly why I bought it.
Obviously I'm too late, but I've only read Warrior's Cross and thought that that was a really good one (not much smexin though ;)).
Hmmm. Have to keep the smexin' content in mind. LOL I've heard good things about that so I'm sure I'll get to it soon.
